Welder – certifying centre (WCC) of JSC «Novorossiysk Ship Repair Yard» founded in 1955 is the only welder – certifying centre on the Black Sea coast of the Russian Federation.
Welder – certifying centre of JSC «Novorossiysk Ship Repair Yard» Licence ¹ 07.00021.185 îf 21.08.2007 stating the conformity of the Yard to the requirements of Russian Marine Register of Shipping as an enterprise performing the following: training and certifying of welders engaged in fabrication and repairs of units and structures being under control of Russian Marine Register of Shipping. Tests are performed to issue Admittance Certificates for welders and include the following items:
Practical examination of welded samples.
Estimation the quality of welded samples.
Theoretical preparation of welders in welding performance according to the requirements of Russian Marine Register of Shipping.
Theoretical testing of welders’ knowledge.
Issuing of protocols of practical and theoretical tests (including the results of non-destructive and destructive test of samples).
Sending of Admittance Certificates to organizations (form 7.1.30) (issued by Russian Marine Register of Shipping).

The period of certification in welder – certifying centre of JSC «Novorossiysk Ship Repair Yard» is two weeks.
The procedure of certification includes:
welding of samples (qualification test) – 1-2 days,
training in theory – lectures - 56 h,
final test is performed in case of the positive approval of the Central Yard’s laboratory (X-ray, mechanical test).
Terms of certification:
Certification is performed after preliminary payment according to the drawn account.
An application of an established form should be submitted to the Register to conclude the Agreement
The following documents, which will be kept in the card index of the centre, should be submitted on the arrival to the WCC of JSC NSRY:
a copy of the Certificate of Education;
a copy of the Certificate of Primarily Preparation on welding (a copy of the diploma), in case of absence of the mentioned document - a copy of a service book stating the period of training on welding and final place of work should be submitted
a certificate of a continuous service on welding (in case of absence of the copy of a service book);
photoes 3 õ 4 according to the number of types of certification.
Yard’s specialists may perform certification on the Customer’s territory.
Certification is performed according to the following welding processes:
MW – manual welding; SA – semi-automatic welding; À – automatic welding.

111 manual arc welding with a covered electrode;
114 arc welding with powder wire without additional gas protection;
131 arc welding with a solid section wire in the inert gas environment;
135arc welding with a solid section wire in the active protection gas environment;
136 arc welding with powder wire in the active protection gas environment;
137arc welding with powder wire in the inert gas environment;
141 arc welding with a consumable (tungsten) electrode in the inert gas environment with a flux wire and without it;
311 acetylene-oxigen welding;
12 arc welding under the layer of flux.
